Repeating a component in an assembly

The Repeat command

To repeat the placement of a component in an assembly:

  1. Click ASSEMBLY > Component > Assemble in the Menu Manager to retrieve a component
  2. Place and fully constrain the component in the assembly using the Component Placement dialog box
  3. Click Component > Adv > Repeat in the Menu Manager
  4. The Repeat Component dialog box will appear
  5. Select the component in the Pro/ENGINEER window
  6. The system will highlight the component and display its placement references in the Repeat Component dialog box
  7. Select the placement references you wish to use when adding occurrances of the component
  8. Click Add
  9. Define the selected references for the added component occurrance
  10. The system will place the occurrance when the references are complete
  11. Continue adding occurrances by defining references
  12. Click Confirm to finish
  13. Remove an unwanted occurrance by selecting it in the Place Component dialog box and clicking Remove

The Ref Pattern command

To repeat the placement of a component in a pattern:

  1. Click ASSEMBLY > Component > Assemble in the Menu Manager to retrieve a component
  2. Place and fully constrain the component to the leader of a feature or component pattern using the Component Placement dialog box
  3. Click COMPONENT > Pattern in the Menu Manager
  4. Pick the component to pattern
  5. Click PRO PAT TYPE > Ref Pattern (this command will only appear if the component is assembled to a pattern leader)
  6. Click Done
