Repeating a
component in an assembly
The Repeat
command
To repeat the placement of a
component in an assembly:
- Click ASSEMBLY > Component
> Assemble in the Menu Manager to retrieve a component
- Place and fully constrain the
component in the assembly using the Component Placement dialog
box
- Click Component > Adv
> Repeat in the Menu Manager
- The Repeat Component dialog
box will appear
- Select the component in the
Pro/ENGINEER window
- The system will highlight the
component and display its placement references in the Repeat
Component dialog box
- Select the placement references
you wish to use when adding occurrances of the component
- Click Add
- Define the selected references
for the added component occurrance
- The system will place the occurrance
when the references are complete
- Continue adding occurrances
by defining references
- Click Confirm to finish
- Remove an unwanted occurrance
by selecting it in the Place Component dialog box and clicking

The Ref Pattern
command
To repeat the placement of a
component in a pattern:
- Click ASSEMBLY > Component
> Assemble in the Menu Manager to retrieve a component
- Place and fully constrain the
component to the leader of a feature or component pattern using
the Component Placement dialog box
- Click COMPONENT > Pattern
in the Menu Manager
- Pick the component to pattern
- Click PRO PAT TYPE > Ref
Pattern (this command will only appear if the component is
assembled to a pattern leader)
- Click Done
